I have been licensed as a Professional Counselor in Virginia since 2014. I will guide and support your work towards healing and authentic self-expression by creating a safe space, full of compassion and empathy, and free from judgement, a cozy, calm and colorful office setting. Together, we will explore your challenges, strengths and preferences to create an individualized treatment plan to help you meet your goals.
I believe strongly in a vision of holistic wellness that recognizes and honors our body's innate wisdom and ability to heal. I am heavily influenced by the healing power of nature and the transformative potential of Yoga. In sessions, I tend to use Cognitive Behavior Therapy as a foundation or starting point, and pepper it with bits of mindfulness practices, relaxation and distress tolerance techniques; writing and drawing exercises and breathing or movement sequences, as appropriate.
